In October 2007, an agreement was entered into by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and CIHEAM. To be more precise, the agreement was with the UNDP Hub for Innovative Partnerships, and its objectives were to enable the two institutions to provide more effective joint support for the development dynamics of Mediterranean territories, help create conditions that would enable local players – particularly those from civil society and local authorities – to devise strategies in coordination with national policies, develop territorial development projects and provide for their implementation.
