The CIHEAM Observatory is a collective tool designed for the pooling and sharing of analyses of agricultural dynamics in the Mediterranean zone. The diversity of opinions expressed and the wide range of topics addressed on the Observatory site are of great benefit to those who wish to explore and understand the major strategic issues in Mediterranean agriculture. Identifying unstoppable and emerging trends in Mediterranean agricultural and rural affairs is another major aspect of the mission assigned to the CIHEAM Observatory.

We accordingly invite persons who have relevant expertise in these areas (teachers, researchers, students, decision makers, etc.) and who wish to contribute to the Observatory to contact the General Secretariat of CIHEAM at the following address: observatoire@ciheam.org

Specifications for contributions Proposed texts must be relevant to the geographical and thematic areas addressed by the CIHEAM Observatory. In other words the subjects must deal with agriculture, food or rural development issues in the context of the Euro-Mediterranean zone (whether at regional or country level). These broad themes may be examined from various angles: political, socio-economic, environmental, cultural, etc. Those wishing to offer a contribution may submit one of two types of text: - fairly short texts of one to four pages (CIHEAM briefing notes) - more detailed texts of five or more pages (CIHEAM analytical notes)
