Every year CIHEAM awards a prize for the best Master's thesis prepared in one of the four MAIs or in cooperation with a national institution. The winner of the prize is selected by the Scientific Advisory Committee meeting in closed session.
Price for the best CIHEAM Master thesis 2008
For 2008, the prize was awarded to Mr Balech Bachir (Lebanon) for his research work conducted at the MAI of Bari under the supervision of Prof Cecilia Saccone and Dr Anna Maria D'Onghia, entitled "An integrated molecular and morphological study to design a DNA barcode discrimination protocol for Fusarium species involved in dry root disease of citrus".
