A network of institutions

The four Mediterranean Agronomic Institutes (MAIs) have established a strong cooperative network of education and research institutes in all CIHEAM member countries. In the fields of education and research, CIHEAM is partnered by about 50 institutions in the Mediterranean Region and as many more throughout the world. The MAIs of Bari, Chania, Montpellier, and Zaragoza, are where CIHEAM’s three missions - education research and cooperation – find their full expression. In association with partner institutions in all member countries, they work in areas that are key to the development of Mediterranean agriculture: food production and quality management; development economics, management and policies; environment and management of natural resources; fisheries and aquaculture.
