Second Edition of the "CIHEAM Ambassadors’ Luncheon": Dialogue and Cooperation for Mediterranean Solutions
On 15 April 2026, the CIHEAM will host the second edition of its Ambassadors’ Lunch in Paris, co-organised with the Spanish Embassy in Paris. This event will bring together ambassadors from Member States and several partner countries for a strategic discussion focused on shared priorities in the Mediterranean. This initiative is part of a drive to strengthen dialogue with diplomatic missions, following on from the first edition held in April 2025, in partnership with the Permanent Delegation of Italy to the International Organisations in Paris, which brought together representatives from the Mediterranean and the Balkans to reaffirm the importance of multilateralism.

Shared priorities at the heart of the discussions
The discussions will focus on key priorities for the future of the Mediterranean, foremost among them food security, adaptation to climate change, the transition toward sustainable agricultural systems, and the inclusion of rural areas. These closely interconnected themes will be addressed in light of the initiatives led by CIHEAM, as well as in the context of preparations for the 13th CIHEAM Ministerial Meeting scheduled for mid-November 2026 in Rome.
Making agricultural and scientific diplomacy a driver of cooperation in the Mediterranean
This second edition also aims to broaden and deepen dialogue with countries engaged in CIHEAM’s cooperation dynamics. This openness reflects a commitment to strengthening convergences, encouraging the sharing of experiences, and fostering collective reflection on the necessary developments to address common challenges in a constantly evolving regional environment.
Hosted at the Residence of the Ambassador of Spain in Paris, this event illustrates CIHEAM’s commitment to maintaining regular dialogue with diplomatic missions and to consolidating partnerships in support of coordinated responses at the Mediterranean level.
