Italian Agency for Development Cooperation

The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation  (AICS) is the public agency responsible for promoting international development, public aid and humanitarian emergencies.Operating since January 2016, it allows the Italian government to support its European and international partners for development around the world. The Italian Agency is active in the fields of health, education and environment. It works for a fair distribution of wealth and equal access to infrastructure and basic services. The AICS collaborates with non-governmental organisations, state institutions and the private sector.

OLIO DEL LIBANO III project (olive and olive oil chain)

In partnership with: CIHEAM Bari

The project aims to promote new and better forms of organisation among stakeholders, to protect and inform consumers, by providing them with tools to prevent fraud, to support producers, but also to empower young people and women members of associations and collective groups involved in the olive and olive oil chain, to strengthen the existing farmers’ cooperatives that are intended to pursue a virtuous quality-oriented olive oil strategy thanks to the necessary materials and equipment, to integrate the MoA laboratory with the necessary technologies, and to support the formulation of policies aimed to add value and promote Lebanese olive oil, at national and international levels through the collaboration with other institutions (Ministry of Health, Trade, etc).

SAMSIMIFA Project (farmers and Agriculture Cooperative Associations in Minia and Fayoum​)

In partnership with: CIHEAM Bari

This projects aims to provide small-medium farmers and Agriculture Cooperative Associations in Minia and Fayoum with effective innovative sustainable mechanization for main farming systems at field level.

KOSAGRI project (implementation of initiatives on Kosovo’s territory​)

In partnership with: CIHEAM Bari

The project aims to assist the Kosovo Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry & Rural Development in the implementation of initiatives on Kosovo’s territory from the perspective of the European integration process and its required standards.

KORES project (strengthen institutional support and producers capacities​)

In partnership with: CIHEAM Bari 

The project objective is to strengthen institutional support and producers' capacities within the Kurdish virgin olive oil value chain. The project covers the whole Kurdistan Region, focusing on the olive oil developed area in the territories of Dohuk, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Garmyan Governorates.

NEMO aims to improve the livelihood of coastal communities through actions capable to value the existing human, social, economic and environmental capital.

IR2MA project (network of knowledge and expertise exchange​)

In partnership with: CIHEAM Bari

IR2MA aims to support a network of knowledge and expertise exchange for demand-driven capitalization of scientific knowledge and good practices regarding irrigation-drainage and their effects on the receiving aquatic ecosystems. IR2MA is aimed at the development and application of a common decision support system (DSS) for irrigation management at end-user level in the Epirus (Greece) and Apulia (Italy) regions that will promote cooperation among their managing authorities and joint efforts to address issues related to climate variability and change.
